Something that i have always wanted to do was Skydiving, and i wish i had done this years ago. I had previously completed a static line jump from 3000ft, this means that the chute is opened automatically for you about 3-4 seconds after you jump, you are then under a stearable rectangular chute, you also have a walkie talkie whereby the person in the Drop Zone guides you in to landing.

me on a static parachute jump.

So then i looked into getting my Skydiving Licence, the quickest and best way was via whats known as an AFF Course, this stands for Accelerated FreeFall . There are 8 levels of training to complete and i did this at Hinton Skydiving Centre.

The first 3 jumps, or levels, you are with two instructors that jump with you, each holding onto an arm and a leg. Let me tell you, the first jump from 12000ft (2.2 miles) is a COMPLETE sensory overload, imagine if you will getting in a small airplane (Cessna) with a flexible sliding door, 15 mins later your above the clouds, you look at you altimeter and it reads 11000ft, time for your final checks, then the door slides up, the noise and fresh air hits you, one instructor gets out first, you slide on over and stick your legs out of the door and there just hanging there, you look at your other instructor give the ok and then push off...............you watch the plane get smaller as you travel 1000ft in 5 seconds.....man there just aint anything like the buzz.

me jumping.

In 2004 i managed to talk a friend of mine to do a tandem jump for charity, His name is Barry and you can see a clip of his experience here, you can also see me jump out before him, i must admit my exit on this video clip is a rather tame on, usually i simply point and jump, this time i did it properly for the camera and so that i could see the expression on Bazza’s face,
